Can I use a canon interchangeable lens on a nikon camera?
Can I use a canon interchangeable lens on a nikon camera?
No, not really.
There are some converters out there but they are generally not worth the bother. You lose auto focus and your metering won't work properly either.
No. All camera manufacturers use a proprietary lens mount and all are different. There might be an adapter made to allow use of a Canon lens on a Nikon body but truth be told it wouldn't be worth the effort.
No.
This is one reason to take your time when buying a camera system.
Later trying to mix and match becomes problematic.
No but if you are persistent enough to figure out the optical differences between the two lens mounts and be handy enough to engineer an appropriate adapter then it would be highly possible. I believe there's non Canon lens to Nikon body adapter. I may be wrong wrong about that.
That is the reason you have have to choose your brand very well at the beginning. Don't listen to hype. Research. If you think you can afford the extra lenses and accessories that system offers now, then you should have no problem sticking to that system in the future. That I'm very sure of.
In the unfortunate event that you turned to the wrong brand, you can always sell your gear and start all over again. Maybe this time, you'll choose the right Pentax, err… I mean brand.
