Can I mount Canon lenses to a Nikon dslr?

I have a Canon 50mm film lens in excellent condition. No use for it. Can I mount it to a Nikon Dslr with a mount?

Not really, Nikon have the longest lens mount to sensor distance of all DSLR's, the Canon (and all other DSLR and SLR lenses from other manufacturers) need to mount closer to the sensor than the Nikon mount allows which means even if you got the lens to fit it would not focus on infinity, there are adaptors made with a converting lens fitted that enables infinity focusing, but they are expensive and there may be metering problems.

Canon to Nikon can't be done.

Nikon to Canon can be done with adapter.
