Actually i want to do fashion shoots and insects photography. Weight does not matter for me but it should be handy and easy to operate.
I'm a nikon user and using D 70 now a days. I wanted to change my camera I have no budget, and I'd like an all round good camera which has
-decent battery life
-good features on the camera
-produces clear, crisp images (good lens quality)
-consistant in the quality of the images (does not blur easily + works in all conditions e.g dark, light, indoors, outdoors etc

There's no easy answer to that. Top end Nikon and Canon cameras are where you probably want to be looking in general. However if you want to do fashion you may well want to be looking at a medium format camera.

Well, since you are using Nikon now, go for the D3x. Its only $7, 999.95.

The important thing to remember is that the more expensive the camera, the less "features" it will have. It only needs ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. The rest is up to the photographer.

The "clear, crisp, consistent quality" images has more to do with the photographers skill than it does the camera body… Even the lenses are more important than the body.

We use the Nikon D300.By today's standard it is a little old, but it has served us well and takes great photos. As noted in the other posts, the more professional models have less features because they rely on the skill of the photographer to take great pictures. The D300 body will run you about $1200.00 and the good news is that the lenses you have on your D70 will work.
