Can any lens work with a Nikon FG-20?

I just bought a Nikon FG-20, because I saw some samples photos and fell in love, anyway, it came with a scope lens, but I don't always want to walk around with a scope. What lens is good for this type of camera? I've never had a SLR camera before, so this is all brand new to me, so don't be harsh.
I was looking for the lens that came in the kit, but I couldn't find it.
Any suggestions?

This camera was popular in the mid 1980's. I think the most popular lens sold with it was probably the 50mm 1.8. There was two of them a cheaper " E " series, and a more solid Nikkor lens.
EDIT: It used the AIs mount.
I don't think it was sold as a "kit" back then. I bought the N2000, and it was body only.

It takes lenses in Nikon AI mount, either Nikon or third-party.

Lenses in AIS mount fit, but their extra features aren't needed, and only modern Nikon lenses with an aperture ring will work.

My basic kit would be, 28mm (wideangle), 50mm (standard lens) and 135mm (telephoto), but many would choose a mid-range zoom (80-200mm/70-210mm etc.) over the last, and perhaps replace the 50mm with something like a 35-70mm, there are many possibilities.

Used lenses in this mount are fairly plentiful, and the prices aren't too bad, either. If you're checking ebay, just make sure the seller allows returns and has good feedback.
