Camera suggestion besides Fujifilm XE-2?

I'm currently on a tight budget but i have been eying the Fujifilm XE-2 ever since it has being launched. I'm particularly fond of everything the camera has to offer including the design and size. But before i'm going to settle in with this camera (despite the pricing), I really need to know whether there's another camera i should look into. Is this particular camera a good investment over a long period of time. I need it for travel and my food blog. I feel like I've fallen head over heel with this camera. Do you think that this camera worth the price tag?
I don't want to get a DSLR due to the size.Camera suggestion besides Fujifilm XE-2 - 1

I own an X-E2, and despite the considerable price tag I'm convinced it's the best travel camera without compromising image quality. I've been using professional grade digital Nikons (D1x thru 3) and old-skool film Canons (F1-series) over the past decades, but the comparatively small X-E2 beats them all in almost all departments. But keep in mind that you'll be making a commitment to the exceptional quality Fuji optics, which are relatively pricey, but well worth the expense. In fact, the optics form the main part of your investment as they'll easily survive a number of camera bodies over the years.
Fuji's X-series centers around a great concept, and the raving reviews reflect my own experiences. Yes, there are a few negative reviews, but I wonder whether these people live in the real world.
IMHO, both Canon and Nikon as tradiotnal high-end camera manufacturers, have nothing that comes even close to Fuji's X-series in terms of image quality and portability (as well as being sheer fun to work with). Another, albeit even more pricey contender might be the Panasonic GH-series, but you'll pay for the excellent video features as well, even if you don't use them. A Fuji alternative might be the X-M1 which is a really affordable, high-quality piece of work with the same X-Trans sensor and EXR-processor as the X-E series, but you 'll miss out on the electronic viewfinder.

The only other camera I'd consider is the Sony A7S or A7R. But, the Fuji is a pretty darn good camera from what I have heard.

It's still cheaper than a Leica.

There's lots of competition out there for this class of camera. For instance:

Also these

But, you know, if you are in love, and the love is requited, go for it. In this case, the love is requited as it is an excellent camera.

I suggest looking at the Sony a6000. Its $748.00 at B&H which is $351.00 cheaper than they sell the Fujifilm X-E2.

I used profession Fuji film cameras in the 645 format for wedding photography rather than SLR's. The viewfinder in dark areas was not a problem like DLSR's since it was a rangefinder design. The shutter syncing at All speeds for flash rather than just 1/60th of a second was a blessing! The point I'm making is that when you enter into a professional type Fuji camera you can rest assured that quality is the result!

Panasonic Lumix Fz47 or any of the newer series. Great cameras, and the most durable/reliable ones you can find. I've had mine since 2012 and i will NEVER get rid of it. Had many of my photos on the local news for weather and such. )

Hi it looks like an old film camera something most of these on here will never have seen. So yes nice for taking snaps not a lot of use for detailed photography.
