Besides the Nikon 5000d, do any SLR cameras under $1000 have an intervalometer feature?

The Nikon is a D5000.
Intervalometers are usually found on cameras that cost in excess of $1, 500
The D5000 is one of the first under $1, 000 dSLR's to have such a feature (page 76 and 77 of the user manual)
My guess is that the new D5100 will also have that feature, but it availability delay caused by the earthquake and tsunami will force people to buy the D5000 instead of waiting.
Just buy one off eBay, they are dirt cheap and work with any dSLR that has a shutter release socket.
