Best automatic slr 35mm camera for beginner student?
I need to get a 35mm camera for my photography class, but I'm a bit confused as to what would be a good one to get. I know I want a modern (auto/electronic) slr 35mm, because the manual ones are tripping me up.
I need one with the decent lens where I can adjust the aperture, shutter speed, and exposure. It also has to be able to take iso 400 film. I'd prefer to buy from a reputable place online and spend under $200, maybe even just $100 if possible. I'd also perfer Nikon or Canon.
Links to places would be helpful!

Minolta Maxxum QTsi 35mm SLR Camera Kit w/ 35-80mm Lens
Just about any 35mm SLR ever made can take 400 ASA film.
I thought these people usually insisted on all-manual cameras. Do you need autofocus?
If you are styudying Photography then you need a manual camera. Automatic teaches nothing but where to put the batteries.
Personally I was amazed that a film SLR was even available. I thought only digital DSLR's were available. The contributor that gave you the Minolta advice is great! As far as digital is concerned, Sony has bought out Minolta and produces cameras under the Sony label. Which I dislike as Sony does not stand behind their electronic products (personal experience) as good as others. Should you have some mechanical problems, I would search out an independent camera repairman.
Good Luck!
P.S. All film cameras including the Minolta were able to shoot manually. Where you select the f/stop & shutter speed.
Minolta Maxxum 9000. One great camera. Mabye a Nikon f100?
