Are there any ways to save battery life on digital cameras?
I have a nikon s6100 and I really wish I can save the battery life a little longer
A perfect way is to not set the time because the camera will waste battery keeping the time & date
You could try turning off the LCD and just use the viewfinder.
The most power hungry part of a digital camera is the LCD. If the camera has a setting to turn it off, use it. Most do not so you'll just have to disable automatic preview. If you want to check your shot, you can do it manually but do it briefly. As much as possible, do not show off your pictures through your camera. Do it in the computer through a graphics program, through emails or upload them to a website. Another way is to use a digital picture frame or have the pictures printed.
