Anything about the Nikon 1?

Looking into buying a camera and i was wondering if you guys could tell me anything about the Nikon 1 or recommend a better camera?

It's an EVIL (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens) type, but not only does it have the usual problems of such cameras (no optical viewfinder and a paucity of lenses) but it's further hampered by a very small sensor.

If you want interchangeable lenses, you'd be better off with a DSLR and its optical viewfinder, if you're content with a small sensor and an electronic viewfinder, look at bridge cameras.

Avoid it! Want a Nikon? Buy the D3100.

Yes, don't even think it! It lacks a viewfinder & hot shoe. You'd be better off buying the D3100 in the same price range.

The Nikon 1 does NOT have a viewfinder that you can look through. This is a problem when you shoot outdoors & the LCD screen becomes washed out. It has no hot shoe and the built-in flash is a joke.
The Nikon 1 is an insult to the Nikon name. It has a cheap plastic feel to it, and I found it hard to hold.
You're better off with a D-SLR.
