I want an 8x optical zoom with 12 or more mega pixel digital camera within 10000rs. I found only Kodak easyshare M580. But after some research i saw it has some problems and the company is not good as compared to canon, sony & nikon. Please suggest me a good digi cam with 8x optical zoom in 10000Rs & 12 mp. Or should i buy kodak easyshare M580? I'm so confused.
i can't afford more than 10000rs.

In regards to the Kodak they are generally to be avoided, do to their lack of ruggedness. I purchased a Kodak 980z last year because it had a really nice vertical holding design along with a second vertical shutter release, But the deciding factor was the lens. The only lens to consider on a Kodak for real sharpness is the Schneider lens. A Kodak without this lens is not worth considering at all. I took several pictures the first day of ownership and enlarged one file to an 11x14.It was sharp as a tack, the result… I kept the camera, otherwise I would have returned it. The cost of the 11x14 only $4.00!

I'm sorry I don't know what 10, 000rs is equal to in USA dollars. But I like the specifications of 8x optical zoom. As far as I'm concerned the amount of mega pixels the camera has doesn't mean anything anymore. As basically all cameras made today have enough or even more than enough mega pixels.
I would suggest you try for the Canon line of cameras. I have seen great things from All there models.
My second and maybe my first choice would be Fuji cameras. They offer an awful lot for the money and are very reliable. I have owned one of Fuji's first digital cameras for 5 yrs. And it just keeps going and producing fine pictures.
