What should I capture with my new Cannon?

Brooks

My friend told me cannons are better for action shots and the Nikon is for more scenic pictures. I'm much better and I have more fun taking scenic pictures. Like nature.
Is my cannon rebel 3t1 with a large image stableizer lens. I also like to take pictures
of sunsets.
So what things should I look for to capture with my cannon? And how?

Cannons are typically used, or were in the past, to cause damage and death to opposing forces and structures. So yeah, cannons are good for action shots. They take a long time to load each cannon ball and fire it off though.

You are not likely to capture anyone using your cannon. If you shoot anyone with your cannon, there will probably not be enough of them left to capture.

Steve's right. A Cannon is pretty dangerous in the wrong hands.

You might do better with a Knee Con, which is when you go around to the houses of elderly people and tell them that they need knee replacement surgery, when in fact they don't.

Alternatively, you could try Pen Tax, which is a good camera, but if you ever buy a pen while carrying it, you will have to pay extra.

Few G make good cameras, but they're the size of a mountain.

Liker are top grade, but nobody likers the price.

OK, enough with the jokes. Your friend is not necessarily right. The Nikon D3S will take better action shots than almost any Can(n)on on the market, and the 5D3 will take scenic pictures as well as any Nikon with the possible exception of the D800 (in the right hands). I take action shots with one of the slowest cameras on the market. It doesn't really matter once you learn how the camera works.

It's all in how you look. Find something that interests you and shoot it. It's about that simple.

I was gonna say a castle, but a cannon might not leave much left to capture.

Canon is the camera.

Your friend is full of cow patties. Either Nikon or Canon and any number of other brands would do equally well at landscape or action shots. There are some lenses that are better suited to the task at hand than others.

The very first thing you should learn to capture is the fact that a Cannon is a military weapon and you are referring to a 'Canon'… A camera.

Whoever told you that Canon's are better for action shots is blowing smoke. Either one is quite capable of action shooting and, if you look at any Popular Photography or photo competition, you're going to find equal if not more Nikon's winning contests for best photo. That doesn't mean Canon isn't as good, it very well may mean that better photographers are using Nikons. It's relative to who is using the tool, not so much the tool used.

As for what things you should look for to capture with your 'Cannon'… Aim high and lob the projectile.

Cannons are artillery.
