What Nikon lens would best fit me?

I horse back ride. And film riding and horses. What Nikon lens would be the best for outdoor action. I want detail. No motion blur. And with different lighting?

Outdoor action shots calls for a lens like the Nikon AF-S 70-300 mm VR lens.

Motion blur is up to you. You have to be sure to use a shutter speed that is fast enough to prevent blur. I shoot at 1/500th second when shooting sports or action.

If you don't have the skills, it will not matter what lens you use whether you pay $590 or $6, 700 for the lens

The Nikon 70-300mm f/4 AF-S VR Nikkor Zoom Lens I think is the best for live actions such as sports, play, etc I take pictures of horses in motion as well as, football players in action on the field of play and that is the lens I use with a fast shutter speed and my pictures are awesome and blur free. I also own the Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5 VR AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens which is a little cheaper for taking pictures of racing cars at the race course and to be honest it takes relatively great pictures, but I would recommend the 70-300mm over that. The Nikon 70-300mm f/4 AF-S VR Nikkor Zoom Lens is sold at amazon for $589 or you can see nikon's website.

Gross! A lens mounted on you while you are mounted on a horse?

Lenses fit cameras. There's no one lens that is good for everything. Not even for you, sorry to say.

For outdoor action, you need a long telephoto to be able to pull the subject closer to you. Since you are already outdoors, it is assumed that your main light will be the sun. You will need at least a 200mm f/4 but if you can get a longer, 300mm to 500mm, better.

Blur can be avoided by using the right settings on the camera. Your concern will be shutter speed (as fast as possible) and ISO (as low as possible without getting blur).
