I recently sold a Nikon on eBay. The buyer is all the way in Bulgaria. She claims that a fault has been developed. The camera is warranted in the UK only and repairs in Bulgaria will cost.

What can I do to resolve this issue? Any one familiar with law or regulations that answer, I will appreciate this

Sold as seen, trying to get money otu of you, a very old trick trying to get money back

you sold it - it was working or you informed them of what was wrong - then there's no need to have anything more to do with this transaction

or you can carry on talking to these people who will eventually give you a sob story saying the money was for something like a life saving operation or they are being made homeless or some other rubbish - just ignore them - put their e-mail address to trash and move on - change your phone number or block the number - scammers and con artists who will take you for a ride

I bet she had time to use it for he holiday snaps and now wants her money back - free camera rental.

What guarantee did you offer with the sale?

Sounds like this could be a con. Contact the buyer and tell her to return the camera to you, (tracked delivery). On receipt, you will have the camera independently inspected and if it is faulty, you will refund her money and carriage costs. Bet you will not hear from her again. Do not offer to refund the money without the camera back in your possession. Keep a copy of all emails etc., in case she makes a complaint to ebay.

Bulgaria? No red flags there. Buyer or seller, if it is too good to be true…

Did you follow e-Bays rules/regulations including selling to a verified user? A little better, not much.
Do you have something that would hold up in court to identify your specific camera by its serial number?

Contact E-Bay and let them know what the accusations are.

Nikon has an international service center. The buyer will pay for shipping there and Nikon will handle shipping back. If you have given her proof of purchase (official receipt) for a brand new item, she can claim warranty. If not, she will have to pay for service and parts. If she will have the camera repaired in Bulgaria, she will have to pay for everything.
