Nikon SLR Cameras

I sold something on Ebay, now the person wants their money back. Do I have to refund it?

I don't own a business or anything so I was selling a camera as an independent seller.

I listed that I was selling a USED Nikon D60 with an 18-55mm lens and a battery and charger.

I said the camera was in like new condition and I said it was coming with the lens, battery, and charger.

Now the person I sold the camera to is mad that it didn't come with a USB wire, and he is also mad that the battery and charger are generic and not Nikon made.

I never said I was going to be sending him any other accessories, just the camera, lens, battery, and charger.

Am I obligated to refund the man? I have already used the money he sent me ($300, which is a good deal… ) to pay bills.

He said "Please, how do we fix this problem?". I told him there wasn't a problem because I listed exactly what I would be selling to him and then he said I was being difficult and causing problems.

Do I have to refund him? I really don't think I do, considering he got what he payed for; A camera in like new condition with a battery and charger.

I think he expected more and got let down and is now bad.

Anyways, do I have to refund him? Or is it tough luck on his behalf?

No you don't have to pay him back. Its like a pawn shop. Sold as is.

It sounds like you were honest in your description, so you are not obligated to refund the purchase price. Perhaps he has buyer's remorse. That is not your problem, however.

If you were completely honest you have no problem. It's the whole "buyer beware" thing. You could offer a partial refund if you feel some guilt. Why doesn't everybody use Paypal when ordering on Ebay?

If you sent him everything exactly as described in your auction and it functions properly, I don't see how he has a case.

If you did not mention a USB cable, or specific brand of battery charger, you owe him nothing.

As long as you didn't misrepresent the item, you're fine…
he has to prove you did. And he'd lose
