Nikon J1 camera won't record videos longer than 1 minute?

I have a 4gb SD card in my nikon J1 camera. It shows that I have 17minutes of video left to record with but it won't let me record a video longer than 1 minute and 12 seconds. Is there a way to fix this?

Check the card speed. A class 10 should be the minimum.

Also, dump any photos or video you have on that card to your computer, and then format the card in the camera, not while connected to a computer. Formatting will erase everything so back up first.
