Other camera brand lenses are not compatible, like Nikkor, Canon and Pentax.

Of course Sony A mounts are, as well as third party, when ordered with a Sony A mount, such as Sigma, Tokina and Tamron. There are other third party lenses to be avoided without extensive research, such as Vivitar, Samyang and Rokinon.

Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, Carl Zeiss. Every old Minolta AF lens, and manual lenses from Samyang.
You order the lenses in Sony Alpha mount.

Best bet is to decide what focal length you need/want. THEN search for that focal length in sites like B&H Photo, Adorama, Amazon, etc. This exercise will tell you what you want! You say you have money burning a hole in your pocket, but you don't say which focal length you want/need. When you do as I say, you will no doubt say to yourself as youread about a lens. "Darn that is way too much money for my budget or the lens speed is not fast enough for the available light work you intend to use the lens in.

A total of 119 lenses & only 32 of them from Sony - rest are 3rd party
