Best Lenses for Sony Alpha A55?
I have a Sony Alpha A55 that I have an 18-55mm lens on. The problem that I'm having with this lens is that I'm wanting a better zoom and also more wide angle, although a better zoom is a LOT more important to me. My budget is around 500. My question is that I found a zoom lens that goes up to 200mm and it costs 250. I'm not sure if I should buy this lens at the cheaper price or go ahead and invest more money. Also, looking to get another camera? Would like an experienced photographer to give me some suggestions? I'm interested in the Nikon D700. Although I love the Sony Alpha A55, I'm wanting something a little more professional and that I can learn more from. I feel like the Sony Alpha is really user friendly. Thanks alot in advance! And before anyone says anything, Yes, I'm a very good photographer and yes I do need to learn more about photography and lenses, so please no lectures as I have seen with other simple questions.
Well Sony and Nikon are two different stories. First of all, Nikon has a really good range of lenses. And if you're interested in the D700, then you'll find out that this body can handle most of the F-mounts lenses, even the AIS ones (with light measuring) because of the aperture feeler.
And what concerns your lens, you're saying you want more wide angle and a better zoom. So either you go with two lenses, A wide-angle and a zoom lens. Or you can get a superzoom lens. Something that goes from 28 to 200mm. Look at their website for more information. If you're getting the D700, be sure to obtain FX (full frame) lenses, and not DX lenses.
If you are going to look at more pro cameras why not the a850, which is a beautiful pro body from sony. If money is not an issue the 70-200mm f2.8 SAL-G is literally one of the best lenses on the market today. While the D700 is one of the best cameras on the market the sony is just as good and will be more familiar to you…
Skip the 55-200mm lens and get the 75-300mm lens(If you don't go with the 70-200mm) as it has alot more zoom
