Sony has a range of lenses which you can find in their websites. If you can't find one of your liking you can get third party lenses from carl zeiss, tamron, sigma, tokina and more which makes sony mount lenses. If you have lenses with a canon or nikon mounts you can buy converters that doesn't cost much. But just a heads up with the converters, although the image quality doesn't change much, the AF speed will not be the same. Hope i helped.

Fortunately, when Sony bought the DSLR technology and manufacturing rights from Konica-Minolta they wisely kept the legacy Minolta Maxxum "A" lens mount first introduced in 1985. This lens mount first appeared on the Minolta Maxxum 7000 which was the world's first full-featured 35mm auto focus SLR.

So your Sony SLT A65 can use any legacy Minolta Maxxum AF lens made since 1985. Yes, you'll be buying used lenses but careful shopping will yield some impressive lenses at a fraction of the cost of new, Sony-branded lenses or new third-party (Sigma, Tamron, etc.) lenses.

One of the most prized Minolta Maxxum AF lenses for use on a Sony DSLR is the AF 70-210mm f4 zoom affectionately known as the "Beercan". You can find one on eBay for about $200.00 or less. A Sony branded 70-200mm f2.8 zoom is about $2, 000.00 and for that cost difference I can live with a 1 stop slower lens. Just increase the ISO 1 stop.
NOTE: Minolta offered a cheaper 70-210mm zoom but its a variable aperture and you definitely don't want it.

Another nice Minolta Maxxum AF lens for your kit would be the AF 50mm f1.4 prime lens. Again, on eBay you can find one for around $250.00 or less. A Sony branded 50mm f1.4 is about $450.00 and as far as I can tell (from reading test reports) they are the same identical lens.

When shopping on eBay always look for lenses listed by Sellers who have earned the "Top Rated Seller" rating. Over the years I've bought at least 10 lenses on eBay with nary a problem.

No, it doesn't have a small amount of lenses.

Not only will it take Sony lenses, it also takes Minolta AF ones and the same third-party lenses as are available for anybody else.

Of course, it can't take Canon or Nikon fit lenses because it doesn't need to.

Question has been answered already, but I thought I might straighten one thing out… The Maxxum 7000 was not the 1st AF camera. It was the first commercially successful AF camera, but Pentax was the 1st to market with an AF camera and lenses.

Adapting Canon or Nikon to Sony is a waste of time and money. Stick with lenses made for the A mount.
