I have a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens?
I have a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens and I want to buy a filter for my lens. I ordered a B+W 77mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter.
The problem is, I'm not sure if this filter would fit my lens. Please help. I have already placed the order and will have to cancel it if it won't fit.
The AF-S 50 mm f/1.8 lens uses 58 mm filter.
Why did you buy a 77 mm filter?
The size of the filter used on your lens is not only on the Nikon website, but on your lens as well.
So NO, that filter will not fit your lens.

The diameter of your lens is printed right on the front… Look at it. That is the size of filter you need.
It won't fit. You can Cancel the order and buy a 58mm filter or keep the order and purchase a 58mm-77mm step up ring. If you go the step up ring route you can use the filter on any lens with a filter size 77mm or smaller using different step up rings.
