Nikon SLR Cameras

Is there any place I can get a good deal on a Nikon camera?

My friend and me are starting a photography business, I already have a cannon rebel and lenses, but i'm really wanting a Nikon…

Why switch now? You're just starting. Whatever you get with the Nikon, you can get with the Canon. All dSLRs are basically the same. It's your skill that dictates picture quality. The camera is only a tool.

- starting a "photography business"
- can't spell "Canon" despite owning one of their cameras
- probably doesn't know any other manufacturer besides Can(n)on and Nikon
- wrote, two weeks ago, "I'm looking to stat (sic; presumably "start") photography"

File under "not to be taken seriously".

Before you spend a dime you need to know a few things

* NONE of the Canon (not cannon - they shoot cannon balls) lenses will work with Nikon cameras
* The cost of replacing your Canon system with a Nikon system could cost thousands of Dollars depending upon how extensive your camera system is.
* Have you done a cost of doing business assessment? See link below
* Are both you and your friend competent enough using camera systems to shoot any subject, under any conditions and produce marketable image on demand?
* Do either of you have experience running a business?

Before you get too far into the "starting a business" process, take your business and marketing plan to your local Small Business Administration S.C.O.R.E office and have them review them. They will give you the type advice you need to assure that your business will still be operating at the end of your first year

You can't spell CANON, and the only other manufacturer you know is Nikon, 2 points.

Your photos will suck whether you use a Hasselblad or a Vivitar until you actually put in some effort to learn to use your equipment properly. Changing systems won't make a blind bit of difference. If you can't do it with a Canon, you still won't be able to do it with a Nikon.

Anyone who can't see beyond Canon and Nikon (and can only spell one of them) has no future in photography.

BH Photo and Adorama have an extensive product selection, expertise (that you won't find at Amazon), and are competitive in price.
If you are going to create a business, you need to have a coherent plan for what you are going to do and what equipment it takes. In general it is an expense to jump brands on DSLR's if you already have an investment in lenses and accessories for a given brand. It might be worthwhile to do it anyway, if you have a clear reason why. For some professional work it could be worthwhile to invest in medium format, but again it takes a realistic plan for the potential of that expensive equipment to turn into sales that will pay for it.

Can't see why you'd want to invest in buying new Nikon lenses when you already have a good Canon system.

All current, new cameras sold by reputable dealers will cost the same, model for model. So, no deals.
