Nikon SLR Cameras

I'm thinking of buying a new camera?

Right now I have a Canon Rebel Xt but I have had it for a few years now, and I think that I'm at a point in my photographic career where I should invest in a higher quality camera. I'm slowly saving up money, so it's not like I can just buy the most expensive camera out there.

Can anyone suggest a DSLR that I can make larger prints with, has video and is not the most expensive/newest one out there? If anyone suggests Nikon or other brands, that's not a big deal, but I'm already used to Canon so that would be my preference.

A modest jump up for you would be the T4i or T3i. If you wanted to go a notch higher you could look at the 60D.

However, what is currently limiting you with your XT? I know it's only 8 megapixels while the newer cameras are more than twice that, but the number of pixels itself has relatively little to do with print size/quality unless you are printing huge billboards. In 90% of cases, if you want to spend money on photographic equipment, you would be best office spending it on new or better lenses. You didn't say which lenses you have or what type of photography you do, but I would recommend looking at your lenses before spending money on a new body. Or, if you're feeling rich, upgrade both!
