It seems that you bought a camera without first determining if it can shoot slow motion video or if it has a time lapse feature and if so, what parameters you will need to live with.

At 120 fps it will provide minor slow motion video (the Nikon 1 V2 provides up to 1,000 fps)

The interval timer on your camera has fixed intervals of 30 seconds, 1 minute and 5 minutes. (a Nikon D300 provides for up to 999 time lapse intervals and up to a total of 9999 frames at any increment that does not overlap the shutter speed times.

You complain that the LCD shuts off when in either of these modes. Have you attempted to shoot a minute of video at 120 fps or 770 frames (thirty second of video at 24 fps (cine) in the time lapse mode?

If so, do you get image files as a result of those tests?

My guess is that the LCD shuts off to conserve battery power. If you intend to make any camera movements while shooting time lapse or high speed video (slow motion), you may want to make an external framing tool like we used when shooting underwater with our cameras at arm's length. You could attach it to the cameras tripod socket using a 1/4 - 20 bolt

For the answers to your other questions, ow do I do it and enable it, look on page 65 (continuous shooting) and then make tests of those two features

This is explained on pages 39 and 40 of the Reference Section of your manual.
