Which SLR is better? Canon T3 or T4?
Purchasing a new SLR to replace my Nikon, which is better the Canon t3 or t4 or any other suggestions?
Added (1). Sorry it's a Nikon D40.
Well, I just bought my 500D (t2i) just a few weeks ago and very happy with it. If I were you, I would purchase the t3i as there's not much differences. The Nikon D5200 is the number one entry level DSLR camera as of now. Hope this helps:3
Since you did not mention which Nikon you have it is tough to tell if the T3i or T4i is a better camera or not.
Over the past five years, Nikon sensors on the whole have performed better in low light than Canon sensor.
Look here and compare the T3i/T4i and your Nikon. If you are set on buying a new camera, then look at how Canon T4i and Nikon D5200 sensors compare.

NOTE: It is a rare time that you will want to switch camera brands once you have started building a system. It is just too costly
If your Nikon is a dSLR, you won't see any difference between the pictures you took with it from the pictures you'll get with a Canon or any other dSLR for that matter. That's because picture quality depends on user skill.
Now if your reasons for jumping ship are different, get the more expensive one. In photography, you always get what you paid for. Other suggestions?
Stick with Nikon. Going to a Canon T3 or T4 is no upgrade. The Sony Exmor sensors in the Nikon beat Canon sensors across the board.
Look at a used D5100, that's probably the best bang for the buck and you won't have to buy new Canon lenses since you already have a lens (or more?) from your current Nikon. I'd take a used Sony A57 before a Canon T3 or 4.
