What's better a Nikon d3200 slr or a canon 600d slr?

I'm just wondering which one is better because I was planning to buy one of them to use for projects, I don't mind the price, I just care about what makes the other one better than the other? (specific features that each one has that the other doesn't), anyone who has any of the two would really help me consider which one to get…
cheers

Nothing in it. Just buy the one that has the best deal or the one you like best.

You can do better. Both have poor image sensors when compared to other current sensors. All the Canon crop sensor cameras score dead last in the image sensor dept. Their cameras are otherwise fine, but they are ho-hum as Canon has done almost nothing to improve their dSLRs, innovation just doesn't seem to be there, probably because they are number 1, they feel they can relax. And even with their mediocre image sensors, they sell cameras because of their name.

Nikon uses superior Sony Exmor sensors, and while Sony sensors are the best, they have one current dud, and that's their 24 megapixel APS-C sensor. It's a dog in low light at high ISO. It's also featured in the D5200, although Nikon claims it's not the identical sensor, I'll believe it when I get to download RAW files from the D5200.

So skip all the Canon bodies, and get a Nikon with a better sensor like the D3100 or D5100. Or try something that actually has a better sensor with new features like a Sony A37, A57, or Pentax K 30.

Nikon D3200 have 24 Mp newly developed sensor and Canon 600D uses old 550D / 7D sensor, So Buy D3200 OR 550D.

However D3200 is advance on core specification compared to 600D.

The one that feels right in your hands.

Find a dealer and discuss the matter. There are other manufacturers, any one of whom might suit you better.

If you think there's a real difference between Canon and Nikon (or between Pentax, Sony and Olympus) you may not be ready for a DSLR. Apart from Olympus small size and Sony's superiority in video, all DSLRs are much the same.

Both the cameras are fine. They are very much equivalent. But image quality and how good a picture feels has more to do with the LENS than the body. Here take a look at my gallery: http://gearspec.deviantart.com
Most images are taken with Canon 1000D which is from 2008 and I don't even have spot metering.
My humble advice is that no matter what the camera is, get some good glass (lens).

You need to go to the store and pick up the cameras have a quick play. I went to ddecide between these two cameras and I ended up getting a PENTAX K 30 which for me personally felt better the the nikon and the canon.

The D3200 is a D3100 with a lot more megapixels and a higher price tag. Honestly, the D3100 would be much better for the price. The 600D is also extremely similar to the 550D, whereas the new 650D is absolutely amazing in terms of price/performance.

I would go with the 600D if you want us to stick to these two models.
