Which lens would be best for a nikon d3000 a 50mm f1.8 or 50 mm f1.4?

I want one with a large aperture but have been told as the nikon d3000 is only a entry level camera neither of these lenses will work well. Is this true? What other cheap cameras would you recommend instead?

The AF-S 50 mm f/1.4 lens will work with your D3000 in all modes

The AF 50 mm f/1.4 and AF 50 mm f/1.8 has to be manually focused using the electronic rangefinder in your cameras viewfinder.

This should not be a big deal, since for over 100 years, photographers have been manually focusing their lenses with excellent results

The D3000 is a good entry level camera. The f 1.4 & f1.8 are both good as well. The f1.4 of course is faster. If you're not going to be doing a lot of indoor shots in low light, the f1.8 will be fine.

I would recommed the nikon 35mm f1.8 a-fs lens.thhis is a lot wder than those two plus i is way cheaper at only 200$! It has great image quality to boot! Only downside is the slowish auto focus.here is a review

The better lens would be the f1.4 for the nikon d3000 but it is also a lot more expensive than the f1.8:

I would suggest you buying Nikon 50mm f/1.4 really a good one to go with
This 50mm f/1.4G lens from Nikon is superb. I use it primarily for night and low light situations where I don't want to or can't use a flash. I currently shoot with a Nikon D90. The clarity and detail with this 50mm lens is sensational. Its auto focus is fast and quiet.
