Wow are you using a funny criteria

The Nikon D5200 is an entry level, cropped sensor camera and its cost reflects that.

The Nikon D4 is a professional level, full frame camera and its price reflects that as well.

For over a decade, the marketing people have been touting the number of pixels that are jammed on a sensor as the be all and end all way to determine the quality of a camera.

This is so far off the mark that it has become laughable.

Here is a sample shot using a 6 mp sensored, 12 year old Nikon D100

The image you are viewing has been reduced to 600 x 400 pixels at 72 ppi for viewing on the internet.

Here is another shot, taken with a 6 year old Nikon D300 with a 12 mp sensor.

Both the D5200 and D4 can certainly produce higher resolution images than those two cameras, but unless you are planning of shooting images destined to become 4 x 6 foot posters, either camera is capable of producing "close to real" images. What will determine that is NOT the camera, but your skills using it.

EDIT:
If you want to win the prize for most pixels on a sensor, look at the Nikon D810 with 36 mp. It is that camera of choice of many studio photographer if they are not using a Hasselblad H5D80

If you are counting megapixels, you are not yet ready for a DSLR

You're comparing a full-frame pro DSLR, with a cropped-sensor entry-level model and you can only see the megapixel count?

I don't have enough hands for THIS face-palm.

If you have to ask this, you aren't ready to buy a camera!
The D4 is a pro level camera that can cost you over $6,000 just for the body. The D5200 is a upper entry level camera.
For you, I'd look at their D3200.
