Hey guys i use a nikon D3100 please suggest me a good tripod for cinematography! It shouldn't be heavy and must be easy to pick it up, move with the camera. The budget is 2-3k lesser the better.
thanks.

Added (1). Please do tell me the model number of the tripod.

I shoot two Canon dslr cameras. I have three tripods from Wal Mart that work very well. Their no good for video unless it's static but they support my cameras just fine. They're about $40 or so.

You are in a dilemma

A good light weight tripod (Carbon fiber) will cost you more than a simple aluminium tripod.

You also need a fluid head for any tripod you buy.

The cost will be closer to $300 USD, a bit higher than your budget

I use a Manfrotto aluminium tripod which can hold a 6 kg camera and lens combination and a Manfrotto 501 Pro Video Fluid Head when shooting video

Here is a review article on several different but good tripods.

You might find they are beyond your budget, but if you read the article you will see what things the reviewers did and didn't like so you will have a better idea what to look out for.

The problem with recommending a particular tripod model is that it might not be easily available where you live, so it is better to know what sorts of things to look out for.

In general you want it to be sturdy, without wobble or bend in the legs, heavy enough to take the weight but light enough that you don't mind carrying it around all day. Carbon fiber is best because it is strong and light, but also most expensive.

Some tripods have a hook or metal bar at the bottom of the column. That allows you to attach a weight or a line and stake to knock into the ground under the tripod for extra stability if you want. It might be easier to carry a lighter tripod and add extra weight on site if you are intending going on long hikes with it.

The head needs to be easily adjustable but lock quickly and well enough so that it doesn't slowly move if you put a large lens on the camera. For cinematography you want a head that can be rotated and/or tilted slowly and accurately. You may find that you need to buy a basic tripod and add a better head when you can afford it.

A quick-release plate can be very useful as you sometimes want to quickly take the camera off the tripod or put it back on again without playing about with a screw thread. Sometimes it is useful to take the camera off to get a close up or a shot from very low down which would be hard to achieve with a tripod.

If you want to be able to shoot from a very low angle then you might want a tripod with a titling column - but that will put the price up quite a lot.

Perhaps one of the best low cost video tripods - and downright cheap - is the Chinese made Weifeng WF717. Be careful when buying this as the head and the combo of the head and tripod both carry the same model number designation.

And other brand names that are essentially the same tripod are Fancier, ePhoto, and a couple more. They are usually found under $150 USD (I don't know what is in your currency - but you can figure it out).

I bought the video head that attaches to a standard tripod rather than the complete head/tripod as I only have an occasional need for video. And while it is an obviously cheap head, I was pretty impressed with it for the cost. My version comes with a 3/8 thread for attachment to a heavy duty tripod.

But if you buy the complete tripod version, the head comes with a bowl mount rather than a 3/8 thread, which allows easier leveling.

You don't always need to buy the best, especially if you only use it occasionally. As long as the camera is not in danger of falling off due to a weak design, then it might work for you.

To buy one, do a search on WF-717 and see what pops up. There are also plenty of YouTube reviews on the WF-717, enough that you should be able to get a good idea of what it is like.
