Opinions on my photography? - 1
Now before I start I want to make one thing clear, I'm not trying to promote myself or attempt to increase my followers like many do on here which is a rather pathetic way of going about it. My aim is to receive some constructive criticism as opposed to praise, though if you do have any compliments they too will be more than welcome. I'm pretty confident in that my photography is decent and I feel I'm at the stage that I have little more to learn in terms of how to use a camera but my expertise is limited when it comes to lighting and perhaps even composing. I use a Nikon D800 aswell as a D700 with the following Nikkor lenses, 24-70 f2.8, 12-24 f4, 105 f2.8 and quite a number of AIS lenses which I use almost as often as the G lenses. I'm a cinematographer at heart but only recently acquired the means to shoot video when the D800 came into my possession. The only reason I have this incredibly expensive equipment is due to the fact my Mum is a photographer and recently I figured if I have this sort of equipment so readily available I would be mad not to learn photography for myself and now I would say I'm very experienced with how to use these devices, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance etc I'm more than familiar with.
So have a look at my Instagram 'samrielly' (I know the pictures are very small and the compression is horrendous but I pick my best images to put on there whereas on Flickr I put just about everything.)
Added (1). Alternatively look at my Flickr
Or one of my videos,
Don't worry it's not real coke XD
btw my instagram shots tend to get a lot darker and less punchy but more moody and sincere most recently so also have a look down the line where they are more colourful, it happens pretty abruptly haha
Added (2). P.S. I use Lightroom very extensively for the majority of my shots.
Added (3).
haha sorry one more, the first one I feel is better but this one has much more diversity in it's shots and lighting etc.
I quite like your landscapes and seascapes; although you need to practice getting your horizons straight!
The derelict buildings are OK but some of them lack a dynamic focus point.
The gangsta's are obviously posed and although the exposure is all right, they look artificial.
Still, reasonable overall so just keep experimenting.
