Need to buy a DSLR camera. So far liked Nikon D7000. Is my choice ok?
I'm wanting to purchase a DSLR camera. Will it be safe to buy online? If yes, which is the most reliable and economical place to buy on web? If there are choices other than Nikon, please do let me know. I'm based in India.
There's a good website called digitalrev.com. They are trust worthy in my opinion. They also make a photography show reviewing cameras, etc. You should watch it sometime. In my opinion, there are 4 other cameras you might want to consider, they are:
Canon 650D/T4i
Canon 600D/T3i
Nikon D3200
Nikon D3100

but why not Nikon. Recently one of my friend Purchased Nikon and it is working Great

The D7000 is a fine camera.
Can't help you in India, but in the US, retailers can't provide a discount on Nikon cameras or they will violate their agreement and lose their dealership.
The price does not change from one retailer to another in the US, so you might as well buy from a local camera shop.
You may find a price differential in the US sometimes, but it is usually due to Nikon incentives, or Nikon not policing their own policies sufficiently.
