Is the Nikon d3200 SLR a good camera?

I'm thinking about getting a Nikon d3200, and maybe going to collage to do a photography course. I really enjoy photography (especially wildlife and animal photography!)

Is the camera any good?
What pros and cons would you give the Nikon brand camera and the Nikon d3200?

It's a fine camera. Not as rugged or fast or full-featured as some of the upper-level models, but that won't affect image quality.

There's little practical difference in image quality or usability amongst the top brands -- Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Sony. Go to a store and try one out, in your hands. See how it *feels* to you. Do the same with the other brands. Then pick the one that suits you best, and has the features you *need* at the price you can afford. What will really matter is lens quality, much more than body.

It's one of the best entry level cameras out there.
