Is it safe to buy on amazon from nikon?

I want to buy a camera but i don't understand how amazon works. It says the seller is nikon but is it really? And if so why is the price so low for a D3100.Is it safe to buy from this or should i only buy from amazon

Last time I was on Amazon there where two ways to buy, from individuals, than from company's. You determine which individual is trust worthy based on customer reviews, and what not. Each person should have a rating on how reliant they are. If you buy from a company, than normally there isn't anything to worry about.

Amazon.com is very safe with an excellent return policy. I have never ever had a problem with any seller or amazon.com. I did buy a remote control for my canon T3i that did not work, I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one.
