I want to change the camera from the Nikon d7000 to the Fujifilm XT1? - 1
The Fujifilm digtial SLR cameras are very good, however I do not see much difference in the total weight of the D7000 with lens and the X-T1 with lens. Yes it is just under a pound lighter (the body), but what you may not know is that your D7000 can shoot up to 1070 image files on a fully charged battery, but the Fujifilm X-T1 can only squeeze out 350 shots
I'm a sports shooter, so I need my camera to be able to shoot over 3,000 shots before I need to consider placing freshly charged batteries in it.
I'm used to carrying around two Nikon bodies with battery grips and four lenses, so I have long ago gotten used to the weight of my cameras and lenses. It is not unusual for my camera backpack to weighs over 25 pounds and in addition, me carrying a Nikkor 400 mm f/2.8 over my shoulder attached to a monopod. I guess to me, one or two pounds does not really make much difference to me when I'm out on assignment shooting sports
Do this. Visit a proper camera shop with your D7000 and ask to hold the Fujifilm X-T1 in your hands and see exactly that the weight savings is by using the Fujifilm X-T1
Go ahead. It's your camera.
The XT-1 is nice, but I'd still take the very nice D7000 over it, purely because the Nikon is a DSLR.
The XT-1 may be lighter, and quieter in operation, but I'm not sure I'd want to sacrifice the optical viewfinder.
Don't, stay with Nikon
Don't change you Nikon d7000 is better
