Can I use a Nikon sb 600 on a nikon d3200?

My friend gave me his Speed light and I'm trying to find the sync option in the camera and I can't find the option! What option should I be looking for or is the Nikon sb600 not compatible

Verify if the SB600 is TTL compatible to the D3200. If it is, select the proper TTL mode on the flash. You can shoot the camera in Auto mode this way. If not compatible, you will have to set the SB600 in Auto or Manual mode and use it like a generic flash.

The Nikon SB600 is completely compatible with the Nikon D3200 camera. Just set the flash for i-TTL and let the Nikon Creativing Lighting System work for you.

The SB600 will:
1. Set the correct shutter-sync speed
2. Set the correct aperture
3. Zoom itself out to match the focal length you've selected on a Nikon zoom lens

The SB600 will allow you to:
1. Shoot direct flash (ouch)
2. Shoot bounce flash upward (choose 45 degrees as a start point)
3. Shoot bounce flash sideways when you've turned the camera sideways for "portrait" mode
4. Accept several different lighting diffusers (Stofen, Lumiquest, Gary Fong, Better Bounce Card, etc) to diffuse the lighting for less harsh contrast

I had and loved my SB600 until forgotten batteries leaked and ruined it. Remember to use rechargeable NiMH batteries and keep spares with you at all times.
