I know that both lenses are good. Just what will be main difference between 1.8 and 1.4? For my D7000

will be shooting outdoor and indoor, mostly group portrait and short tele for sport.

It does not really matter.

The 2/3rds stop difference is minor in today's digital cameras. It was important sometimes when the highest ISO film was Tri-X, only 400; 1200 when developed in Acufine.

Now with cameras performing at ISO's from 3200 and up with little or no noise, I would suggest you buy the least expensive lens and be done with it. The "G" version is also known as AF-S is the fastest auto-focus lenses made by Nikon.

The difference would not be that much. Each lens have their own particular use, to have a lens that will cover most of the ranges including low light capability for indoor setting will make the lens very expensive. Consider particular lens for particular use. For group pictures 50mm on D7K is equivalent to 75mm, you will need plenty of room to back up. Perhaps you could be interested in wide angle lens like 35mm f/1.8G, with this wide angle you will be able to do group pictures with little effort. This is something to do with Hyperfocal Distance in Infinity in such short focal distance. If you like FX lens then perhaps you will be happy with 24-70mm f/2.8, this will give you an equivalent of 36-105mm, which is good for group and your shot tele requirement. Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 is not cheap, but if you can afford it or possible rent one you will be happy with it. There are also 3rd party brands that might interest you like the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC (Vibration Compensation) or Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8. But I will still recommend getting the Nikon version.

D7K, is a lens hungry beast just like all high MP DSLR Cameras, you have to choose you lens carefully to get the full use of the camera's capability. If you are in a very tight budget, splitting you lens focal range with 2 different uses would be the way to go. For this 35mm f/1.8G or 50mm f/1.8G for indoor wide angle and short distance zoom, and pair it with 18-105mm VR. 18-105mm will not be the greatest lens you will own if you will shoot ambient light, but if you have a speedlight it will do well.
