Which camera should i use?

I need to make some high quality images for my family in size 20x16 (500x400mm). Then do i need 20MP camera like Samsung NX1000 with 50-200mm or i can use my Nikon D5000 12MP with 55-200mm. With regards.

If you already own a DSLR, why bother with anything else?

If you can't get the results you want with a D5000, it's not the camera that's at fault.

I have successfully made 16x20 prints from a 12 mp senor (D300).

What is important is that the image is tack sharp and shows NO blur caused by camera movement during the exposure (use a tripod to assure this)

Just to add a note, perhaps take them in raw format perhaps with your dslr?

I don't think you would notice an improvement with the Samsung.
