Both will work just fine.

Neither they are both targeted primarily at enthusiasts interested in high action photography. You don't need a camera with this speed, but you actually need a larger sensor.

You could potentially save quite a bit of money if you buy a second hand Canon 5D, or a 1Ds (mark I), or something medium format. They're all slower than the D7000 or 7D, but for studio and landscape you don't need stupid amounts of speed.

My favorite tool rates them a tie.

That said, the things I consider important, image quality, dynamic range, color depth and noise, all fall in the Nikon's favor.

@Andrew I true professional wouldn't have to choose. They could use either.

like Canon. Nikon's aren't comfortable in my hands.
Go feel both cameras and see what the result is for you. But the ones that feels the nicest. My biggest gripe with Nikon cameras is that everything is overly complicated (too many buttons, too many menus etc) and button placement isn't comfortable. For example, not being able to change your ISO, shutter speed and aperture with one hand which never has to move. The 7D allows you to change all 3 settings with the same hand, so I can hold the camera one handed quite comfortably and dial in my settings.
That's why I like Canon.

If you have a look at both, you'll discover things you do and don't like. Pick the one you like the feel of the most.
