Does the 50mm work with my Nikon D60?

I've been looking up these lens to help with my course. There's a Nikon 50mm 1.8D or a Nikon 50mm 1.8G. My friend told me the 1.8D doesn't have auto focus on a D5000? Or something like that?
I was wondering would the 1.8G work with a Nikon D60?

If you look on page 146 of your user manual, you will see that only AF-I and AF-S lenses will auto-focus with your D60
Your friend is right about the "D" (AF) auto-focus lenses, but for simplicity, as long as you only buy AF-S lenses, you can used the auto-focus on your camera
Yes it will work, but you will have to manually focus the lens using the electronic rangefinder on your camera

It will work but it will not autofocus. For autofocus to work, the lens must have an internal motor in it. Look for Nikon lenses with the AF-S or AF-I spec. D won't and G is not enough.
