Everytime I take pictures with my Nikon D60 and look at the display screen, there's a black box covering the picture that says things like optimize image, iso, white balance, size, etc… How do I remove this black box so I can see the pictures I took?

There's a setting somewhere in the menu or a dedicated button that cycles the preview mode through simple, minimal info and (like what you have right now) maximum amount of info. You either have to read the manual to find out exactly where it is or browse the menu thoroughly to find it.

That display can be helpful or in your way. As Keerok pointed out, you can cycle through the display modes. The control is called the Multiselector, right of the Monitor (page 5 of your user manual). Arrow up or down to change what if any shooting data is displayed on playback.
