Nikon has sent you a notice of a firmware update.

Visit the website and download the firmware and follow the instructions EXACTLY. Too many people skip reading the instructions or skip a step and end up having to send their cameras into the camera maker to get the firmware installed correctly and this is not inexpensive when you consider the cost of shipping and the service fee.

Here is a link to the firmware updates from the Nikon website.

The oldest one is firmware 1.02 to 1.03 and the newest one is version 2.013. My guess is that you need to install the oldest one first.

I do not know where you got the NKLD0213 number

If it doesn't come from the Nikon website - don't.

The wrong firmware can turn your camera into an expensive brick, and Nikon will charge you through the nose to fix it.

Before installing firmware for your camera, check which version your camera is running. No use to go through the steps if you already have the latest firmware version already loaded in your camera.

Next, go to Nikon's web page, choose your camera, and then click on support. Once there you'll have several options one of which is software/firmware. Download the latest firmware to your desktop. Next, read the entire set of instructions before attempting to upgrade, and then follow them exactly as written. Not following the instructions exactly as written can easily result in you bricking your camera. Bricking means your camera is completely unusable - like a brick. To fix a bricked camera, you'd have to send it off to Nikon for a pricey repair. Some argue that if the new firmware isn't providing anything useful for you, then don't take the risk. For example, a recent firmware upgrade for my camera added the ability for the camera to recognize a new lens with image stabilization. Since I have no plans on getting that lens, I decided to not upgrade my firmware.

Why fix if it's not broken?
