Ar-15 scope rings and turkey hunting?

I want to replace the scope rings i have on my ar, i have a front sight post and a nikon p223 with ncstar rings. I want the rings to be repeatable because to change my handguard i have to take the scope off. I don't want some crazy expensive rings that is worth more than the scope and rifle combined.

now for the turkey hunting question. I hunt in north mississippi and i was on the fish and wild life website and i couldnt find out if i needed a plug in my shotgun to turkey hunt. Only thing i found was shot size restriction. Reason i ask is because i took my plug out to compete. I have a remmy 1100 with a 2 3/4" chamber, and i was wondering if anyone had any turkey shell recommendations?

to sum it all up

1. What are some non-expensive scope rings for nikon p223
2. Do i need a plug to turkey hunt in north mississippi
3. Does anyone have any 2 3/4" turkey shells recommendations

Added (1). @ mkay, my shotgun can only shoot 2 3/4" and my friend is letting me use his turkey choke

1.) use a one piece scope on an ar, they work best, i have this one in 30mm for my bushnell ar optics scope and it shoots great and holds a zero, it comes with a rear part that doesn't have all 3 rails on it.

2.) more than likely, i would put it in anyway

3.) i would never use 2 3/4" shells on turkey, 3" woud be my minimum and #4 or #6 shot. 2 3/4" would be fine if you are close enough but the turkey loads with a turkey choke gives you alot more range.

I don't know what rings you should use. I'm not sure what you mean by wanting the rings to be "repeatable," and that confusion is making it hard for me to give you any good answer. I'd suggest you take your rifle in at a gun shop, explain what your problem is, and let them offer you suggestions. Be sure to tell them your budget, but remember… The cheaper you go in regards to optics and mounts, the lower the quality will be.

My guess is that you want the scope rings to be easily removed, yet maintain zero when you replace them. There are "QD," or "quick detach" rings you can purchase, but I highly doubt the cheap ones are going to be as good as you want.

Now, as for turkey hunting: keep the plug in your gun. If you need more than three shots to bag a turkey, you're doing something wrong anyway. Here's a website about hunting laws in Mississippi:
http://www.mdwfp.com/law-enforcement/hunting-rules-regs.aspx

They don't specifically state that your magazine must be plugged, but there's no point in taking a chance. If you miss with the first two shots, odds are you won't hit if you have another two or three or even ten.

And as per the same website, you must use shotshells with shot no larger than #2 birdshot. I'd recommend you buy a few boxes of turkey loads and pattern the shotgun you intend to use with the choke you intend to use. Look here:
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/turkey_target_350467_7.pdf

Michigan has been kind enough to put out this turkey target and instructions on how to properly pattern your shotgun. Print out several copies of the target and have at it.
