When I'm taking senior pictures with my Nikon, does fx and dx lenses matter? Make a difference? If so which one would be better for those types of photos?

If you use a FX lens on a DX camera, the angle of view will be smaller causing the lens to perform as if it were 1.5x its actual focal length
If you use a DX lens on an FX camera, the sensor will automatically crop to match a DX sensors size.
Just use the right lens for shooting portraits. A medium telephoto lens is best for shooting portraits.
Portrait photographers use 50 mm or 85 mm lenses on DX cameras, 85 mm or 105 mm lenses on FX cameras and 24-70 mm lenses on both
