Will a Nikon wireless (radio) trigger work on a Nissin flash?

I'm looking at buying a radio flash trigger for my Nissin flash so I don't have to operate my flash in slave mode with the pop-up flash on my Nikon camera. Does it matter if I buy a radio trigger specifically made for the Nissin flash, or can it be for any Nikon flash in general?

As long as you have the transmitter trigger on your camera and the receiver on the flash, it should work just fine
