Nikon Coolpix L810 Point & Shoot (Red) IS THE BEST
Nikon Coolpix L810 is the best one to buy.
It really does not matter which dSLR you're using. What matters are the lenses you buy.
Since most wildlife are active near sunrise and sunset, you will need a long, fast lens.
If you check with the Nikon and Canon websites, you will see that although you can buy a nice entry level dSLR like the Nikon D3200 or Canon T4i/650 for under $700.
The lenses will drive you to the poor house.
My Nikkor 300 mm f/2.8 lens cost me $5, 500 four years ago and now they cost closer to $6, 000.
If you want to feel faint, look at the cost of the 400 mm f/2.8.
Nikon is the best.
Pentax will match either and Sony do better video.
As has been said, the lenses are expensive.
The L810 is a piece of sh! T designed for people who'd rather have a name than quality, the Fujifilm S4250 is a far better camera, but the lenses on both are a bit slow for wildlife photography.
It isn't the brand that counts for wildlife but the lenses.
What sort of wildlife?
Bugs? Birds? African Safari?
