A lot say Nikon and Canon have the best SLR cameras, those companies are pretty similar. I have a Nikon and it's really easy to use, but soon I'm getting a Canon. For me, it's Canon because one of it's latest camera has a video recorder:-) haha

Canon is the best, on the basis of top quality lenses offered by it compared to Nikons'. Otherwise they are both equal.

Hasselblad's dslr isn't the industry standard, maybe for studio photography it is but not an all rounder. I don't see any wildlife photographer using it, sports photographer, landscape photographer(maybe few).

For SLR cameras, Hasselblad is the best. Of course, you may pay an arm and a leg just to get your hands on one of their cameras.

other than that, Canon and Nikon are the leaders in the normal consumer world

If you don't want to mess your head with too much varieties of DSLR and lenses and if you want bigger value for money, go for Sony. The camera is actually just a tool for taking picture, the one who are taking the picture matters the most.

I would personally say nikon (best overall in lens quality, variety, low light, all around features)… Then Olympus (better camera bodies than canon in many of the classes they but worse lenses and much less variety), than Canon (even most L glass still isn't at the quality of nikkor glass), then anything other than Fuji (great cameras but outdated), Yashica (they make dslr's?!). You have Sony (Better lenses than Canon or Nikon but less variety), and pentax (great cameras but less variety too)

However if I were to list the best Slr systems I would order it at Nikon and Canon first, Sony and pentax second, Olympus and any other cameras under that…

Iv'e shot with the 5 big systems extensively and can say you can't go wrong with any of them. Just each one has its strengths.

Nikon currently is the best all around, has many lenses, and is exceptional in low light
Canon has a great following, many lenses, and nice video features
Olympus is by far the toughest, lightest, and smallest
Sony has the best optics and pentaprisms
Pentax is the most user friendly and is pretty durable
