Which camrea is good, Nikon or Cannon?

I just recently thought about buying my first actual camrea. I'd like to be a photographer in the future, but as for right now, I just want a good camrea that is either Nikon or Cannon for practice. I want something that can make the background blurry, but a person or something at the front of the picture is sharp.
I've been wanting to take actual pictures than off my phone. Which camrea brand is good, Nikon or Cannon? I don't want it to be brand new like this year camreas, BUT I do need a little help with different numbers or whatever that is since I don't know what's the difference and why that camrea is better than one same camrea, but different futures.

NIKON

Actually both Nikon and Canon are excellent camera makers (cannons shoot cannon balls)
If you want to be a photographer in the future, then you need to consider buying a fully adjustable camera like the Nikon D3200 or Canon T3i/600D and taking a class in photography to learn the fundamentals of photography.
