Nikon SLR Cameras

Which cameras are compatible with a Tou/five star 28mm lens?

I just got a new camera for christmas, a Nikon FG SLR, and two lenses. TOU/five star 28mm, and a nikon lens series E. I'm a beginner when it comes to photography and I've been told that I got a pretty good camera to start off with. The problem is that the body is not working. When I put the batteries in and look into the viewfinder eyepiece I can't see the red LEDs, anyways long story short I need a body that will be compatible with both lenses. Please and thank you for your time.

I'm surprised that the Nikon FG does not work.

You are saying that neither lens works on your camera?

I would look for an other Nikon camera that is like the FG, a 35 mm SLR.

Neither of the two lenses you have are what would be considered amazing. One is an unknown generic brand and the other one of the short lived "economy" lenses sold in the period of 1979 until 1984. Those were designed for use with the economy Nikon E cameras (aperture priority only)

Before you throw the FG to the recycle bin, take it to a proper camera shop and have them look at it. It could well be that the lenses are the problem.

Here is a link to all the Nikon cameras and Nikkor lenses and which are compatible with which.

And a link specifically for the FG camera

If the Five Star lens does not mount the FG then you will need a Nikon F-mount camera and an adapter for the Five Star. If the Five Star mounts the FG, you won't need the adapter. Which adapter? Don't know. You didn't show the lens mount.

If your FG's lightmeter is not working, you can still use it but you will have to be the lightmeter. Study the Sunny f/16 Rule.
