When I test my battery with multimeter and it doesn't show voltage, is battery dead?

I'm trying to test Nikon EN-EL7 battery with 3 pins

Added (1). Battery is Lithium-ion EN-EL7. I tried with AA battery and multimeter is working. Damn

If your wondering if your multimeter is good just test another battery.otherwise, yeah, that thing is doa. What type of battery?

Yes… Make sure that you are using the multimeter right and test the multimeter on something else that you know is good, as to verify that there's nothing wrong with the multimeter.

If your multimeter is working, it's set on the right function and range, the test leads are good, and you verified it with another battery, then it's time to give your Nikon battery last rites. It sounds as if it shorted internally.

Try to charge it before assuming anything and i still if it doesn't respond, then consider it as dead.
