What's Better? Canon Nikon or Sony?

What's a better camera brand? I just need a regular digital camera and i want to make sure i get the best brand.

All have their fans. Nikon and Canon have the best selection of lenses. Neither is "better" except perhaps for very specialized uses where one might have an advantage over another. Generally people buy one and stick with it so that they don't lose the investment they have made in lenses.

Sony's are always overpriced
Canon's are usually pretty inexpensive but you get what you pay for
Nikon's have the best lenses and therefore take better pictures

Go with the nikon that fits your budget

Sony is definitely 3 or not to be considered at all. Pentax would be 3rd, and that is only due to sales and lack of advertising on their part. Now consider Canon & Nikon. I have been a Canon man all my life and wouldn't change (except my most recent camera is a Pentax). That said their are two camps on this forum. Canon & Nikon. And the best recommendation is study the models in your budget and then go out and physically handle the cameras and find the one which is most comfortable to You!

Canon and Nikon are the better out of the three. However, between Canon and Nikon, neither is necessarily better. They have great cameras and lenses. If you're looking for a camera, and are debating between the two brands, the best thing you can do is go to Wal-mart or whatever store and hold the camera and decide how comfortable it feels in your hand.

Personally, I like Nikon because unlike Canon, it doesn't feel empty and weird in my hand.
