What times zoom is a 70-300mm telephoto lens?

I have a bridge camera with a 50x optical zoom, but what times zoom is a 70-300mm lens for a nikon dslr.

To find the zoom ratio, divide the longest number by the shortest. So, for instance, a 10-100 would be a (100/10) 10x zoom.
300 divided by 70 is a little over 4 (4.28 blah blah according to a calculator), so for the sake of convenience it would be called a 4x zoom.
