What Nikon camera (s) are exceptionally good with low light? - 1
I believe in one of the more recent commercials, they said that one of them was great for indoors or low lighting.
Most cameras are good in low light if you know what you're doing and have a good ISO range. And a good tripod of course.
Nikon D3s, or Nikon D7000. The Pentax K5 uses the same sensor as the D7000 and gets more out of it. The newer Nikon D4 and D800 are, as yet, an unknown quantity, but should be better.
The Pentax K5 is amazing for indoor sports and other low light situations - so the Nikon D7000 should still be quite good in the same situatons

Wow, a commercial telling you how good the product is. Somebody please explain this radical new concept.
If you knew anything about photography you would be able to understand and answer this your self…
.
It's all about the light and getting the light to either the film or the sensor.
.
What handles the light you ask? The lens!
.
The faster the lens the more light it lets through and the more light it lets through the easier it is to take photos in dim light. Yes, you can crank up the ISO to help, but a f/1.2 lens will see a whole lot better with ISO 1000 than a f/3.5 lens. Now, with some cameras going as high as 12, 000 and more ISO, this logic STILL holds it water. The faster lenses will be better!
.
The cameras don't matter, it's the lens and a older D40 with a f/1.2 lens will see better than a D3X with a f/3.5. Period.
.
I love it how people believe TV commertials… And politicians.
The Nikon D3s is amazing and the D4 is should be even better. Those are some seriously expensive cameras though. Nikon is far better in low light than Canon. I don't know what to recommend on the amateur end but I do know that Sony makes fantastic sensors for low light as well.
